Kawaii Time Garden is built around a simple split. The Time tab answers “where did my hours go” by sorting each site into a category — Work, Social, Video, whatever you define — and totaling the minutes; the address itself is classified once and then discarded, never stored. The Playground turns ordinary page-to-page navigation into a slow collection: every page you visit banks a step, steps hatch an egg, and eggs reveal one of 99 procedurally-drawn critters — who now wander a full-page garden every time you open a new tab, not just inside the panel. Nothing here is prescriptive — it doesn’t tell you what’s healthy or how long is too long. It just tracks, and it’s a little bit fun.

What it does

Category Time Tracking

Sees which category of site you’re on and totals the minutes. The address is classified once and discarded — never logged, never a history list.

Hatch-and-Collect Playground

Every page you navigate to banks a step. Steps hatch one of 99 critters across four rarity tiers, wandering the panel with their own little speech bubbles.

New Tab Garden

Your collected critters now take over every new tab, too — a full-page playground with a search box and clock, entirely local.

Playground Chaos

An optional four-step dial from Clear to END TIMES — a smouldering dumpster, then flames and drifting embers, then a flying saucer whose alien leans out shouting nonsense. Exactly one critter stays perfectly calm throughout, insisting that this is fine.

Away From Chrome

Optional. When Chrome isn’t focused but your computer is still in use, it offers to log that as desktop time. It always asks first, and it never pretends to know which app you were in.

Manual & Desktop Time

Log time Chrome can’t see — Adobe Acrobat, paperwork, phone calls — with a live timer or a fixed-duration entry, editable afterward.

Optional Focus Timer

A Pomodoro-style work/break timer for when you want structure. Entirely optional — critters keep hatching whether you use it or not. Tracks your session count and streak.

Cloud Affirmations & Export

A kawaii cloud with something kind to say about time, rest, and quiet progress — save it as a shareable image. Time data exports as CSV or JSON over any date range, with daily totals labelled right above each bar in the charts.

Categories, Your Way

An offline emoji picker, wildcard site rules, an Ignore button for sites you don’t want to sort, and a portable config file to set up the same categories on another computer.

Light & Dark Themes

Switch anytime in Settings — a deep-purple “Midnight Galaxy” palette alongside the original pastel look. Respects your system’s reduced-motion setting.
