#DHSeaDev — Chrome MV3 — New Tab — Cozy

Lullen

Lullen is a free Chrome extension that turns your new tab into a cozy room where a kawaii raccoon named Lullen lives. He wanders the floor, tidies up litter on his own and feeds it to his friend Dumpy the dumpster fire, while your clock, search box, links, focus line and to-do list sit above him.

CHROME WEB STORE LISTING IN PREPARATION

Lullen is coming to the Chrome Web Store. It is not listed yet, so there is no install link on this page. It is free, with no account and no analytics. The full privacy policy is in the Privacy section below. Questions: dhseadev@gmail.com

What does Lullen do on your new tab?

He walks, in depth

Lullen wanders the floor and can stroll toward or away from you, so he gets smaller at the back of the room and larger at the front.

He tidies on his own

Litter lands on the floor. Lullen picks it up himself, carries it to Dumpy, and feeds it in. There are 30 kinds of junk, each with a short sorting tip.

Dumpy the dumpster fire

Dumpy is Lullen’s friend: a friendly dumpster that is on fire and fine about it. Click Dumpy to rummage through him and you may find something.

The Shelf

Three quests a day, 18 badges and 20 finds (4 of them rare) to collect. A bonus find waits when all three daily quests are done.

Six bins

An optional sorting game: junk piles in and you drop each piece into Paper, Plastic, Metal, Glass, Compost or Trash, with the mouse or the keys 1 to 6. An easy mode uses four bins.

The workshop

Sorted materials can be crafted into small things: Tin Helm, Paper Wings, Bottle Boots, Jar Lantern and Sprout Sprig.

Three looks

Lullen, Snow and Toast. Same raccoon, three palettes, swapped from the gear menu.

A real new tab

A clock, a search box, your links, a focus line and a to-do list sit above the floor, in five themes plus an automatic one: Dusk, Dawn, Mint, Night and Paper.

How does Lullen tidy up on his own?

Four steps: litter lands on the floor, Lullen picks it up, Dumpy takes it, a find turns up
  1. Litter lands. Junk drops onto the floor now and then. You choose how much: none, some or lots.
  2. Lullen picks it up. With tidying switched on, he walks over and takes a piece without being asked.
  3. Dumpy takes it. He carries it to Dumpy and feeds it in. Dumpy munches and the flames flare.
  4. Finds turn up. Tidying, feeding Dumpy and rummaging through him can turn up finds for the Shelf.

Every one of those is a setting. Wandering, tidying, litter and Dumpy can each be switched off, and with reduced motion on Lullen does not wander and jumps to litter instead of walking to it.

What are the three looks?

Three looks: Lullen, Snow and Toast
  • Lullen — the original grey raccoon.
  • Snow — pale fur, a pink cap and a patch of sky on the cheek.
  • Toast — golden-brown fur, an orange cap and freckles.

Questions

What is Lullen?

Lullen is a free Chrome extension that replaces your new tab with a cozy room where a kawaii raccoon named Lullen lives. He wanders the floor, tidies litter up on his own and feeds it to his friend Dumpy the dumpster fire, while a clock, search box, links, focus line and to-do list sit above him.

Does Lullen collect my data or need an account?

No. There is no account, no analytics and no telemetry. Everything is stored in this browser, in chrome.storage.local plus a tiny theme hint in the page’s own localStorage. Lullen makes no network requests of its own, and its content security policy sets connect-src to none, which blocks them.

What permissions does Lullen ask for?

Two: storage, which saves your links, to-dos, settings and progress in this browser, and search, which hands the query you type to your browser’s default search engine. It has no host permissions, no tabs permission and no content script.

When can I install Lullen?

Lullen is coming to the Chrome Web Store and is not listed yet, so this page has no install link. When the listing clears, this page will carry an install button.

Is Lullen private?

The short version: Lullen asks for two permissions, keeps everything in your own browser, and makes no network requests of its own. There is no analytics, no account and no telemetry.

Shield with a check mark, a house, a person and a bar chart each crossed or marked to show data stays local, no account, no analytics
WhatAnswer
Data collectedNone. Lullen collects and transmits no data about you.
Accounts or sign-inNone. No account system, no login, no email field.
Network requestsNone of its own. The extension page sets a content security policy with connect-src 'none', and it loads no remote fonts, images or scripts.
SearchThe search box passes a typed search to your browser’s default search engine through the chrome.search API, and opens a typed web address directly. Lullen does not see or store the results.
Analytics or telemetryNone. No events, no page views, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers, no third-party scripts.
Permissions requestedTwo: storage and search. No host permissions, no tabs, no activeTab, no content script.
Where your data liveschrome.storage.local in this browser, plus a tiny theme and layout hint in the page’s own localStorage: your links, to-dos, focus line, settings and game progress. There is no storage.sync, so nothing is copied to another machine or to a Google account.
BackupsYou can download a backup file of your data from the settings. It is created in your browser and handed to you as a file. It is never uploaded.
Browsing history and page contentNever read. No content script, and no tab or page URL is read or stored.
Remote codeNone. The extension page allows scripts from itself only. No eval, no remotely hosted scripts, no CDN libraries.
Selling or sharing dataThere is no data to sell, share or transfer.
Deleting your dataUse Erase everything in Lullen’s settings, or remove the extension, which deletes its storage with it.
The two permissions, and why they exist
PermissionWhy
storageSaves your links, to-dos, focus line, settings and game progress so they are still there next time you open a tab. Local to this browser only.
searchLets the search box hand your query to your browser’s default search engine, so Lullen does not have to pick one for you.
Host permissionsNone requested. Lullen runs on no website and reads no page.

Credits and support

Lullen and Dumpy are original characters drawn for this project, and the whole extension is hand-written by DHSeaDev. Settings has a Credits and support section with the same details. Lullen is free and stays free. If he made your new tab nicer, you can chip in on Ko-fi. It is optional, and the link opens only if you click it. The extension itself makes no network requests.
